Palovista Ranch comprises plateau desert land surrounded on three sides by either Carson National Forest, NM state land, or the Bureau of Land Management. Few homes or structures intrude upon breathtaking vistas that stretch over 100 miles. The ranch contains an astonishing assortment of land formations in a relatively compact area. Features include a mile of Vallecitos river, cliffs, mountains, spring-washed caves, fields, mesas, hills, arroyos, a box canyon, wetlands, ponderosa pine and pinon/juniper forest, cottonwoods, large and deep springfed ponds, dirt roads, a rustic barn and stable, old adobe homes, and corrals.
